Italy and Spain receive wild cards for the 2023 Davis Cup Finals and will advance directly to the group stage in September
2022 finalists Australia and Canada also qualify automatically for the 2023 Finals group stage
Seeds for the 2023 Davis Cup by Rakuten Qualifiers draw have also been announced
Qualifiers draw takes place TODAY at 11:45 CET (10:45 GMT) and will be livestreamed on DavisCup.com and the competition’s social media channels
The ITF and Kosmos Tennis have announced that Italy and Spain will receive wild cards to the 2023 Davis Cup by Rakuten Finals. Italy and Spain will join 2022 finalists Australia and Canada at the 2023 Finals group stage in the week commencing 11 September.

 

The wild cards were selected by the Davis Cup steering committee, which is comprised of two members from the ITF and two members from Kosmos Tennis.

 

A total of 24 nations will compete in the 2023 Davis Cup by Rakuten Qualifiers:

The remaining 12 nations which finished in 3rd-16th place at the 2022 Davis Cup Finals (September/November)
12 winning nations from the 2022 World Group I ties (September)
The draw for the 2023 Qualifiers will be held in Malaga today, Sunday 27 November 2022, at 11:45 CET (10:45 GMT), ahead of the final of this year’s competition at 13:00 CET (12:00 GMT). The draw will be livestreamed on DavisCup.com and the competition’s social media channels.

 

The 12 Qualifier ties will be played on a home-and-away basis on either Friday 3-Saturday 4 February, or Saturday 4-Sunday 5 February. Each tie consists of two singles matches on day one, and a doubles match followed by two singles matches on day two.

 

Seeds for the draw are based on the interim Davis Cup nations rankings – which include results from the 2022 Finals. The list of seeded and unseeded nations can be found below. The 2022 year-end rankings will be published in the week commencing Monday 28 November.

 

The winning nations from the 2023 Qualifiers will advance to the 2023 Finals group stage in September.
