Sex-O-Rama 5:
“Invaders from the
Pleasure Planet”
A high-voltage, synth-laced tribute to the unapologetic decadence of the 1980s
Out March 7, 2025
Strap in. Strip down. The Pleasure Planet is calling.
The pop culture shockwave is back—bursting with synth-fueled energy and a rebellious twist on ‘80s cinematic soundscapes. Sex-O-Rama returns on March 7 with Invaders from the Pleasure Planet, a double LP packed with groove-heavy nostalgia, razor-sharp satire, and enough funk to shake the walls.
Born from a frustration with classical music’s rigid rules, Sex-O-Rama became the renegade of the Porn-Funk genre—a tongue-in-cheek sonic rebellion that blends infectious rhythms with vintage flair. Led by Carvin Knowles and Adam Pike, their mission was simple: take the bold, uninhibited funk of ‘70s film scores and inject it with humor, swagger, and synth-driven style.
Their pulsing rhythms first made waves in the late ‘90s, landing in cult films and sparking heated debates. Controversy? They thrived on it. But beyond the headlines, the music spoke for itself—unapologetically funky, impossible to forget.
Now, they’re back—and this time, it’s intergalactic.
Invaders from the Pleasure Planet is a high-voltage, synth-laced tribute to the unapologetic decadence of the 1980s—an era of neon lights, VHS culture, and wild sonic experimentation. Think deep basslines colliding with shimmering synths, electrifying melodies, and beats that pulse like a city after dark.
This double LP fuses digitally remastered classics with fresh, vintage-infused tracks that capture the essence of an era:
🎵 “Whips and Chains”—a symphonic ride that bends harmonic expectations.
🎵 “Brats in the Boudoir”—a playful, pop-culture-infused groove with a rebellious edge.
🎵 “Virtual Reality Vixens”—a sci-fi synth fantasy with a retro-futuristic pulse.
Knowles reflects, “We asked ourselves—what if those guys made music in the ‘80s? What would film scores sound like in the age of New Wave? This is our answer. Half of these tracks were written decades ago, the rest came together in a creative whirlwind. I even had a heart attack mid-recording—so yeah, the music literally has life-or-death stakes.”
Through all the chaos, one thing remains the same: Sex-O-Rama still knows how to bring the funk.
Bold. Parodic. Pure sonic pleasure.
Brace yourself—Invaders from the Pleasure Planet drops March 2025.
