“Truss have sculpted a sound that creeps into your headphones and won’t let go. Think industrial shadow, alt-metal vibe, and emotional black light: it’s heavy yet intimate, polished yet jagged, like beauty cracking in slow motion. This is the kind of record you don’t just hear—you feel it. Each riff and whisper pulses with quiet tension, building until it tightens around your chest. It’s moody, it’s unsettling, and it’s deeply arresting.”- Brutally Delicious

CLEVELAND, OH – Rising hard rock powerhouse TRUSS have released their sophomore album, FLUORESCENCE. Blending grunge grit, alt-metal heaviness, and punk urgency, the album marks a bold new chapter for the band as they continue to establish themselves as a dynamic force in modern rock.
The latest single “Numb,” offers a powerful glimpse into the emotional intensity of FLUORESCENCE, a self-produced collection that dives deep into themes of grief, nostalgia, heartbreak, and self-discovery.
Formed at Ohio State University just before the pandemic, TRUSS has built a formidable following across the Midwest and beyond. Their sound — a fusion of throaty, melodic vocals and driving, riff-heavy instrumentation — draws comparisons to Soundgarden, Evanescence, Paramore, and TOOL. Known for explosive live performances and raw emotional energy, the trio has shared stages with national acts including Everclear, Anberlin, 10 Years, Big Wreck, and Dead Poet Society.

“Each song was written when I was in a different headspace,” says vocalist Hannah Crandall. “HEAVY came out of losing someone close to me. Tell Me Something was about feeling directionless. I hope people can resonate with FLUORESCENCE, if nothing more than to feel a sense of nostalgic comfort that everyone longs for.”
Guitarist/bassist Eric Kennedy adds:
“We grew up in the 90s and 2000s when bands were really experimenting — pushing boundaries sonically. This record was our way of tracing back to what made us love music in the first place, but through a 2025 lens. The entire project was done DIY — written, recorded, produced, mixed, and mastered in our own homes.”
TRUSS will celebrate the release of FLUORESCENCE with a string of summer dates, including a hometown release show at Cleveland’s Grog Shop on June 21. Other key stops include NXNE Festival in Toronto, Rockin’ on the River, and a performance at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in August.
Upcoming Tour Dates:
June 14 – Toronto, ON (NXNE Festival at Supermarket)
June 20 – Lorain, OH (Rockin’ on the River Concert Series)
June 21 – Cleveland, OH (Grog Shop; FLUORESCENCE Album Release Show)
