“Dimmelo”: the end of a relationship and everything that remains unresolved
“Dimmelo” It’s the new single by LAKUN, a short and direct track that talks about that suspended space where a relationship is over, but there’s still something that needed to be said.
The song moves precisely within this contradiction. In the verses in English, there already seems to be an awareness that that person belongs to the past; the chorus in Italian, however, keeps asking for an answer: “come on, tell me here, over there, tell me in the dark, tell me yourself.” A request that repeats almost obsessively, like questions that remain unanswered.
LAKUN doesn’t try to create a happy ending or a real resolution. Even the structure of the track, lasting just 2 minutes and 8 seconds, follows this idea: the question returns, insists, and then abruptly stops. The answer doesn’t come.
The heart of ‘Dimmelo’ really lies in this absence: knowing that some things are probably better left unsaid, but still wanting to have heard them at least once. Switching between English and Italian, LAKUN turns this intimate experience into a universal feeling: moving forward carrying not necessarily a person, but an open question.
Biography
LAKUN is an artist, singer-songwriter, and producer born in Italy, who lived for ten years in Israel and now resides in Los Angeles, California. His personal and artistic journey, marked by a life as an “outsider” and his Jewish roots, translates into an unpredictable and overwhelming sonic journey, full of passion, grit, and perhaps even a good dose of anger.
Strongly influenced by the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Italian romanticism, and the Los Angeles pop scene, LAKUN creates a sound that moves between alternative pop and alternative rock, pulling the listener into his universe with no filters and no compromises.
