The draws for the Davis Cup World Group I and World Group II Play-offs will also be held on Sunday.

The draws will be attended by David Haggerty, ITF President, and Fernando Verdasco, tournament director for the Davis Cup by Rakuten Finals 2021, and will be livestreamed on DavisCup.com and the competition’s social media channels.

Twenty-six nations are eligible for the 2022 Qualifiers: the 16 teams finishing in 3rd-18th place at the 2021 Finals and 10 nations that qualified from 2021 World Group I. Two of these nations will be awarded wild cards for the Finals, leaving 24 teams to contest 12 home-and-away Qualifiers ties. The wild cards will be announced prior to the draw on Sunday.

Twenty-four nations will also compete in both the 2022 World Group I Play-offs and 2022 World Group II Play-offs, bringing a total of 36 home-and-away ties around the world. The Qualifiers, World Group I Play-offs and World Group II Play-offs will be played on 4-5 March 2022.

Seeds for all three draws will be based on the interim Davis Cup rankings – which include results from the 2021 Finals. The 2021 year-end rankings will be published in the week commencing Monday 6 December.

The winning nations from the 2022 Qualifiers will advance to the 2022 Finals, where they will join the 2021 champions and runners-up and two wild cards in a 16-nation line-up.

The winning nations from the 2022 World Group I and World Group II Play-offs will progress to the 2022 World Group I and World Group II ties, respectively, in September.
