IT La Fondazione Antonio Dalle Nogare presenta il 30 settembre il nuovo allestimento della mostra David Lamelas. I Have to Think About It, la prima retrospettiva in un’istituzione italiana dell’artista argentino David Lamelas.
A cura di Andrea Viliani con Eva Brioschi, la mostra si sviluppa spazialmente su tutti i piani della Fondazione, sconfinando in locali di servizio, come scale e ascensore, e nelle sale che accolgono la collezione, così da generare un dialogo con alcune delle sue opere. Oltre allo spazio, aumenta anche la durata nel tempo: generalmente limitata a poche settimane, la mostra copre invece un arco temporale molto più ampio durante il quale, assumendo configurazioni diverse, presenta alcune tra le più importanti opere storiche dell’artista insieme a nuove produzioni, e a un programma di eventi dal vivo. Riferendosi ai principi che ispirano la pratica di Lamelas, anche l’allestimento della mostra, che ha inaugurato a maggio 2023, si presenta quindi, a partire da settembre 2023, in una seconda configurazione, intitolata semplicemente Part II.
Durante l’inaugurazione la Fondazione propone, alle ore 11.00, una conversazione tra l’artista, la curatrice Sabine Breitwieser e il curatore Andrea Viliani sull’opera Office of Information about the Vietnam War at Three Levels; The Visual Image, Text and Audio (1968).
EN On September 30, the Antonio Dalle Nogare Foundation presents the new display of the exhibition David Lamelas. I Have to Think About It, the first Italian retrospective exhibition devoted to Argentinean artist David Lamelas.
The exhibition, curated by Andrea Viliani with Eva Brioschi, develops in space across all floors of the Fondazione, and branches also in service rooms – such as stairways and elevator – and back into the exhibition rooms. This facilitates a dialogue between Lamelas’ works and those of the artists in the collection. In time, the show reshapes and expands: unlike what happens normally, the exhibition will last a considerably longer time, and will be taking on different configurations. Some of the artist’s most important historical works are presented alongside new productions and programme of live events. Referring back to the principles that inspire this practice, the exhibition that opened in May 2023 will also be presented in a second setup in September 2023, with the simple title Part II.
